This is my D&D character Kova Balasar. He's a mystic-breed catfolk Artificer, currently level 8.
He's boisterous, intelligent (but of mad scientist kind,) crafty, chaotic and above all, a cat.
His Bio/Background:
"Kova Balasar was born and raised on the plane of Ravnica, a worldwide cityscape; a ecumenopolis consisting of a patchwork of grand halls, decrepit slums, and ancient ruins, with layer upon layer of stonework. Law magic and the metaphysics of hierarchy are deeply woven into the very fabric of the plane, enabling cooperating leaders to achieve feats of greatness.
He was raised by loving parents who owned a successful Jeweler's business. As a child he showed great potential and brilliance, surpassing his peers in schooling and advancing rather quickly to higher education. He joined the Izzet League and worked his way up to the lustrous rank of Izmundi the personal court and servants of Niv-Mizzet the guild master. Niv-Mizzet uses them to guide his machinations and to keep him abreast of the happenings in the wider world.
Kova was researching ley lines that connect the magical focal points of a certain plane or realm... and theorized there are ley lines that connect entire planes to each other a sort of guideline that plansewalkers must travel on to get to other planes. His experiments led him to Ral Zarek the League's second in command and plansewalker. Kova set up various magical devices and sensors while Ral planeshifted to detect and capture the arcane energies that it left. In true mad mystical science he tried to replicate the ability with his findings, trying to planeshift to prove his theories...and it worked! Mostly....he opened a portal between planes but without a spark planeshifting was... unpredictable, unstable and nearly impossible...the rift started pulling him in by his arm but it its instability saved him and closed on him severing it.
But that was just the first experiment! He built himself a new arm and gathered the recourses and energy necessary to replicate the experiment and with the aid of Niv-Mizzet himself (who was quite intrigued by non-plansewalker shifting) was successful! .....Mostly...He still didn't have a spark, a seemingly random factor but apparently essential one....and was flung through different planes at a rapid pace until he landed, crashing into a tavern table...and stood up, now surrounded by a group of scrappy adventurous..."
