I don't think the artist, especially one not from the US, is under a whole lot of obligation to time their posts to events taking place in another continent.

I've been working on this since November and it was finally finished now / the client gave a go to publish it. Until your comment I didn't even think about it. It's annoying when you constantly have to walk on eggshells everyywhere online because no matter what someone says or posts, someone else will feel offended. *shrugs*
Reforms were needed 30 years ago, and peoples lives have been overturned. Could it all have been avoided? Yes. Did the people in charge refuse to do the right thing? Yes. Is it possible the narrative has been crafted so that one side gets a better deal for themselves? Yes. Do I trust anyone to tell the truth anymore? No. Not at all. Is that sad? Yes.
Obviously a piece that detailed isn't an overnight job, and I wasn't criticizing you, just commenting in general about how things came together. And I know well about how easily people get offended. We make personal wine batches at work I commented to a customer who had been with us for years that they had a "nice long file" and they complained to my boss that I had called them an alcoholic.
