A job was supposed to be one that most people enjoy when graduating from college or as a career during their life. Other times it was about the money and how it could help pay the bills and such. But this wasn’t a job a thin and boney lizard by the name of Lucy came to mind. She was one of those model girls who loves to play dress up and wears makeup, showing off for the men. Because of how low her GPA was, she couldn’t get a modeling job. Instead, she was stuck at a Build-a-Bear Workshop as an employee who doesn’t get paid that much more than she expected. Her personality wasn’t also a great fit. She was this cold hearted person with no sense of caring nor sympathy. She would always wear black eyeliner and cheap skin tight leather suits she would bring everyday.

The other employees weren’t having it and wanted her fired. But of course, she was the one who’s in the bear suit everyday because she was the only one tall to wear it. And not to forget how skinny she is, just like a model she has always wanted to be. So on a Tuesday afternoon, she goes into the back to get in the bear suit like every other day. “I’m starting to hate this everyday.” She complains as she puts the two piece suit on, head and body. It had brown fur with a small tail, big paws for both hands and feet and yet a thin body. There was also some sort of tube where the ribs were at. Lucy had no idea what that was for and didn’t care to figure it out. She goes out of the backroom and into the main room with all of the children making their own bears.

She always does her best to act positive when she is really grumpy and not in the mood to play with children. That’s when Lucy decided to try to ignore them by not saying a word and imagine herself as a model. In other times, this could be a way to get herself back on track by trying to get enough money to go back to college and get a higher GPA score for her modeling career. But of course, things weren’t going well since the bear suit was loose and big, making her trip. Lucy really hates the bear suit very much.

When she was trying to help a child with stuffing a bear at the stuffing machine, an unexpected kid saw how wrinkly and thin the bear suit really was. So he decides to help with that by taking one of the hoses from the stuffing machine and attaches it to the mysterious hole in the bear’s chest, all without Lucy noticing. Once planted, the kid then turns on the machine which makes the stuffing going through the hose and into the suit,

“Huh, that’s weird, I feel crowded in this suit.” She says, confused to what was going on. That’s when she looks down to find out that the suit is being stuffed, inflating it with her inside. “Hey, who put this in here?” She finds the hose from the machine, with the stuffing going inside her. It was surprising how quick it was going, the bear’s belly was becoming the size of a basketball along with the other body parts like the hips and butt which were blowing up like balloons. The back of the bear suit puffed out, almost losing her balance. Lucy tugs on the hose and tries to pull it out, which didn’t work at all. “Someone take this out.” She said, trying to get someone to help her. But all of the children, adults, and employees were just standing there in awe as the bear suit inflates more and more. Her arms were becoming unbendable and harder to move, laying them down on her sides, while her legs were a bit stiffer but at least movable. The bear’s torso was the size of a beach ball, still growing. “It’s getting too big.” She said, waddling around. The stuffing was not only making her wider, but taller as the stuffing went under her feet and raised her upwards, about 6,7 tall. The suit was almost full with it’s smooth and rounded fur and skin, the tightness of it as if it’ll burst like a balloon. But that was stopped by the hose spitting out from the pressure. “Finally.” Lucy said, relief that the suit didn’t rip, but was big and very soft. The other kids cheered and started to play with them while the adults took pictures.

“Why is this happening?” She asks, complaining about it. It was warm, crowded, and soft inside as if she was feeling protected by this bear. One of the kids hugs the bear’s belly, feeling how soft it was. That’s when her mind had these different thoughts. It was like she was getting comforted by these children who poke the suit and give out a lot of hugs. Maybe what she was doing was wrong and the feeling of being a bigger kinder person was what she was missing. So she decided to be a nicer person and start treating the children right instead of ignoring them for now. So starting tomorrow, she’s gonna change her life.

The next day, Lucy was a changed person. She walks into her job with a nice fluffy sweater with no black eyeliner. She’s been nice and polite to her co-workers in which they return their respect for her. Lucy also plans to tell anyone else who ever takes her job to always have the bear suit very big and stuffed so the children can play with it. And so before the store opens, she goes back to the stuffing machine with the bear suit on where she puts the hose back into the hole before turning on the machine where the stuffing inflates the bear suit again.

After the suit was inflated, she waits for the children to get here and gives her lots of hugs, tight and soft hugs that show a lot of love and cuddling. She also gives them some love by hugging the kids. The other good news is that because the bear is all stuffed and not loose, she didn’t trip less as often and if she did the padding will protect her. Being this lovable made her very happy at the moment and wished that she would get these moments for the rest of her life.
