This is very imaginative. It makes for quite the believable fable.

Thanks! But it's a little less imaginative than you might think...I read a book of Russian folk tales now and again, and characters there are always throwing down bits of clothing or other trinkets to make obstacles magically appear.

Amazing... I confess I haven't read any of your stories before and had only the notion that you were a math professor that happened to be a furry. Your nature runs deeper than I had thought and I am glad to have come across this story. It reminds me of some of the "how such-and-such "came to be stories like how the bobcat came to have a blackened stumpy tail and dark-tipped ears for having brought fire from the human world to the animal.

Man, what a basket of chuckles this was! I was laughing out loud reading the talk between the priestess and the weasel trying to figure out what the badger wanted. And then at the end it was a good wrap up and a final thought to leave us smiling.
