Heh! Good tribute... and the heritage locations are a nice touch. (Is that image with the trolley from COPS?)
James Karen, looking like Keaton...? I must admit, I find that hard to visualize!
About the reference to Keaton's voice: I could never quite connect his actual voice to his actual person, because the silent Buster has always been somewhat mythical or alien to me, in a positive sense; he always seemed to have an almost unearthly quality, like something that had visited our planet and never quite figured out the stereotypically human way of doing things. And so, when I finally heard his voice, it seemed a bit "down to Earth" for me.
Strange, isn't it? ;)

Actually, it's from a cop-chase scene in "Daydreams". http://www.filminamerica.com/Movies/Daydreams/
Yeh, well you wouldnt think so, but when I saw this photo from the Buster convention in Iola, Kansas, it made me believe that Karen looked like Buster. http://www.washburn.edu/cas/art/cyo.....1/JamesHat.jpg
Yeh, his voice is very down to earth, very Kansas with possibly a hint of Michigan in it. I love his voice and I found out that if I take how pure his voice was when singing in "Free and Easy" (before the alcohol screwed it up), I can really picture that lovely higher-pitched voice coming out of his young self when he was doing his silents and especially the ones for Arbuckle. I've heard Buster speak enough so that when I read his lips in silents, i can hear his voice coming out of his mouth. When you understand his way of speaking, it seems to make him more real to watch him. He doesnt seem to be as much of a distant being anymore, especially since knowing his bio and behind-the-scenes info, it took away a bit of the glamour and left Buster as this amazing man who is playing an alien who has dropped to earth and doesnt understand so he makes up his own rules and no matter how hard he tries, the world is always against him, but somehow he gets what he wants because he doesnt give up.

"Daydreams" -- of course.

Wow...! At the sight of that photo, I did a double-take.
And I like your comment about Keaton's voice. I am much less familiar with his sound films than you are, and so I still haven't adjusted to the reality of the way he speaks. I still think of him in terms of his silent persona; you think of him in terms of the complete person -- which is really the best way to think of anyone.
