This is a term that I'll be using throughout Traveling Abroad and any other stories set in this world. It's just a word to make my world feel a bit special, that's all!

As is true with terms being different from country to country, the same is true from world to world. In Serenia, the creatures you call furries or anthros are known as "Beastials" worldwide. Though, they do have a bit more of an explanation as to what constitutes as a "Beastial".
To the people of Serenia, a Beastial is any sentient humanoid creature with animalistic qualities. Even with as few qualities as just cat ears and a tail (What most would consider a "Neko" as opposed to a furry) is still considered a Beastial. In essence, Beastial is just a catch-all term for any animalistic people. Though, there are a few things to note on the subject. Anything inherently draconic is a dragon kin and not a Beastial. This does call into question the Dragon Beastials that are considerably smaller than their dragon cousins and have slightly more human-like qualities. These particular creatures perplexed Serenian scholars for generations. The current conclusion is that they should be classified as both Beastials and dragon kin and not one or the other.
Beastials is a broad category to be sure but to those who use the terms furry, anthro, or otherwise, this is just what I will refer to them when telling tales in the world of Serenia and is just a word I will be using. These people are still furries and the like, just think of the word Beastial like a regional dialect or something similar.
