I had this visualization of Harp (red panda) leaning over listening with xmas gear on, so I ran with it. I've been seeing alot of phonographs lately (particularly a drawing another artist did of their own character replacing the RCA Victor dog, which might have fed the image of Harp..) so that became the subject. Aaanyway, it's here. The personality of Amber (finnish spitz) is very Harpo Marx -- the dance that Harpo did in Duck Soup to the clock chimes, music box, alarm clock, and then he played the strings inside the piano -- that came to mind when doing this drawing. I felt like sticking Hokum (Harp's fox terrier plush) someplace and that was the only place I could think of where he wouldnt be in their way.

And yes, the record cover says Wurlitzer. It's the old fashioned theatre organ that they play to silent films. I listen to organ tunes alot lately, along with other artists of the period like Billy Murray, Cliff Edwards, Jelly Roll Morton, and Django Reinhardt.
