Not totally sure, to be honest. Obviously depends on the complexity of the animation.

Not a ton of money, but enough to reflect the couple of hours of work it takes.

its funny that the running one ended up so smoothly, just looking at the frames it doesn't look like it would. Could it be the frame rate? I know the DS Castlevanias have super smooth animation, but to a point to where the character is running in slow motion. the way you did it is actually more accurate in running speed, i find it interesting that not many frames are needed to make a good/great animation..

I think it's all in the bounce. That subtle up-and-down motion makes it look really realistic, to me anyways.
