In developing Dai’s background, I initially toyed with the idea of him coming from a long military family, dating way back to pre-Roman Britain. This was my attempt to capture that, in my first commission from the amazing 
, at Furnal Equinox 2015. I absolutely love this piece, from the woad trousers and spear to the simply beautiful background capturing the environment in which this tribesshep would have roamed. My idea of Dai coming from a military family is one that has rather faded away with time, but based purely on how well Heather illustrated this piece, I’m content with keeping the idea alive. ^__^

Nadolig Llawen! Yeah, Christmas is almost universally celebrated here, though less as a religious holiday and more as a general celebration of gift-giving, overeating, and getting together with family. Of course, that last point has had to be cancelled because of the pandemic, but that's how things usually go. :)
Absolutely, and I'm glad you think so! I'm sure you can imagine me, barely having spent a year in the fandom, seeing this for the first time and how exciting it felt to see my character immortalised in pencil. It's an excitement I still feel each time I look at it. ^__^
