That was one of the last times Dick the 2nd was home before the divorce, when Dick the 3rd was a preteen (and Muttley 3, you can see his helmet). And one of the rare times he was home at all ever since his son was born. Poor boy not only almost never saw his career-oriented dad but whenever he was there there always was a huge tension between him and his mum over anything, hence why he hates Christmas... ok now the sad part of the description is done : AAAAAY DELILAH FINALLY CALLING THINGS OUT ON THAT MAN WHO NEVER LOVED HER NOW SHE DOESN'T CARE ANYMORE AAAY MUTTLEY 2 DOESN'T HELP

Oh I didn't invent it we see him look that way 2 times in 2 flashbacks showing him as a preteen XD
Oh for this I have the headcanon they must have had a common ancestor centuries ago, so long ago it isn't incest at all anymore lol she looks and sounds a bit like a British aristocrat and the Dastardlys canonly are nobles with a very old royal heritage from Ancient Rome minimum so there must have been marriages to keep the bloodline in check. And given how they have Hasburg-like jaws and we know what the Hasburgs sadly did between cousins we can suppose they did the same for alliances for centuries
However I headcanon he never chose her, it was an arranged marriage because his mother (my OC Ermine) was very jealous of the idea of her babies preferring people they would fall in love with over her so she made sure they would marry ugly and/or people they would not choose, and for the boys girls looking like themselves to destabilize them. He never loved her and even cheated in her more than once and was rarely home by the time Dick the 3rd was home to avoid her, and while I HC she did love him at first she quickly got desillusionned so it was a very unhappy marriage. And their son in the middle suffering from that
