12 years ago I got that cool I didn't do it!" sketch from
Wolfhearts featuring my old fursona which already was darned cute.
(That one here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/1434050/ )
And now I got surprised with an awesome new sketch with this scene redrawn.
Thank you very much, that really made me smile!
What a great gift :3
Also, if an artificially gestated, augmented and formally brain-washed Ex-Commando in a cyberpunkish universe smiles at you that way... some things are about to go kaput. ^^'

GhostBear must be hunting a high-value target. His target must have made the fatal mistake of coming out of the shadows.
Frank Miller coined a phrase in one of his graphic novels: If you intend to die, you can do anything. GhostBear personifies that phrase. This is why GB wants to distance himself from his teammates.
This bear/lynx is one part Fox McCloud and one part Agent 47.
I would like to see a short story about GhostBear's origin.

Yeah, I guess that is true in a way. He is aware, that he will not survive his asymmetric war against the Corp, so he doesn't want to drag his friends down with him.
But aside from little Ryan, they are all on the "arrest them if you can, shoot them if they resist" list...with Ghost being on the 'shoot to kill" list.
But there's a high chance that in end, nobody of the Spectres will come out looking pretty. Or being alive.
Knowing that, he doesn't really have anything to loose anymore. Of course he does't want to die. But he is ready to.
Some years back I tried to actually write his background as a story, but somehow I fumbled and didn't get it done.
Basically, Ghost is some sort of a prototype of a new generation of soldiers and commanders.
Tank born, outfitted with military grade augmentations and then basically brainwashed and trained.
And for a while that worked. Until due to an undiscovered error in his creation, he discovered his 'humanity' (or however you want to call it, being an anthro), which led to his defection.
Also he learned about his artificial creation, which also changed his perspective (in the beginning he believed that he suffered from some sort of amnesia, due to an accident) about his past.
Or the lack of it.
Daniel and Cay (2 other members of his team) also have a corpo background and defected.
Ryan was an orphan they somehow picked up
And his "brother" Kurai was also part of a project to create a perfect assassin, by snatching tough streetkids, brain washing them and then brutally train them. (Although Kurai is not an official member of the Spectres and they only work together on special occasions so BR headhunters don't have 2 high ranking targets in one location too often)
