In the course of my reuploading spree from DA, i've reached this old UI shot of my modular duck character in-progress. Instead of reuploading that oooooold piece, have a new shot of the file in it's current state! 🦆
I've improved several key points on the model since then, like reworking the topology on the body and hands, redoing the eyes as textures rather than orbs, and tweaking the custom rig to suit a duck-ish posture. Couple more clothes and hairstyles too!
It's intended to be modular so with a few clicks, end users like you can equip clothes, change eyes and hairstyles, and pose it without much hassle! Maybe it'll be ready for release some day, until then you get to see an odd character configuration that I tweak each time I load the file :)

The eyelid/brow topology seems a bit odd. Not sure how well that approach will handle the sort of deformation needed for extreme facial expressions.
Other than that, I have to say that you've done an excellent job of adapting the cartoon's visual style to 3D. I'd be curious to see how it looked with cel shading and freestyle lines.

Wow, thank you for the feedback!
The eyelids are indeed one of the final hurdles, currently the oldest part of the model that hasn't been revisited. In the old show's style, the thick brows and eyelids were key for expressions, but the new show gives the characters floating eyebrows as well as the more angular shapes 🤔 I'm sure there's a way to pull off either or both, it'll jump out at me when I least expect it to.
Only tried Freestyle lines a few times, it's a great idea! There's tons of new tricks for flat toony shading effects in Eevee too, I think i'll be playing with those next time around.

Yo! Since this snapshot, I'd only gotten around to adding floating eyebrows for an attempt at better expressions, otherwise I lost all steam on the project. 😭
The model base may never be truly "finished", but that doesn't mean I can't share it if you're interested! The file's usable for posing and scenes, but there's some quirks, especially in latest Blender versions. Sending you a note, I'll give you more details there
