The Fastest Thing Alive. The Blue Blur. True Blue. These are a mere sample of the nicknames earned by this one Mobian Hedgehog called Sonic.

Almost nothing is known about Sonic’s early years. The most that’s ever been gleaned regarding his origins is that he’s Adabatese, born on Christmas Island on June 23. As his name would suggest, he was born with the ability to move at incredible speeds using only his feet and has been known to break the sound barrier under the right circumstances. In addition to his lightning-fast sprinting, Sonic is only said to sneeze if he senses approaching danger.

A constant traveler, Sonic developed an affinity for the Human culture imported by refugees from Earth. At some point, he learned Capoeira, how to play the guitar, and even fly aircraft over the course of his adventures. He also owns a biplane, the Tornado, which he earned by sending in 1,000 box tops of Apple Whirls cereal. He uses this plane to travel off the island.

When not on a globetrotting journey, Sonic kicks back in his beach house at Teal Cove in Turquoise Hill Zone on South Island. His hobbies include running, surfing, Gunpla-building, and playing video games. His favorite food is chili dogs and has an affinity for vintage anime — from SCIENCE NINJA TEAM GATCHAMAN to SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO, SPEED RACER to MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM. He is also an avid reader of the gag manga CRACK-UPS.

Sonic does not tolerate any kind of wrongdoing and cannot stand to see people cry, especially women. He has consistently been a thorn in the side of Mobius’ would-be conqueror, Dr. Eggman.
