Only a few gul are on Earth, all carefully chosen by the Maker and sent through the gateway as part of a small cultural exchange.
Some of them lead fairly exciting lives, like Furayl who has eaten two humans (and gotten away with it) and fucked a grizzly bear. Not a bear woman. An actual bear.
Jevak's life is dull by comparison, but while most humans he meets recoil in alarm, he does encounter the occasional xenophile who experiences the "Oh no, he's hot" reaction.
Maybe it won't happen this time, but it's happened before, and he's hopeful it will happen again soon. After all, there are only two female gul on Earth, neither of them lives anywhere near him, and what's a semi-feral to do but seek some friendly local companionship?
