A YouTube dnd vid, gave me the inspiration for this. The is a story, but to keep it short.
The present the elf is a "half-blood", and a overall outcast of his kind, despite he's noble lineage, and prowess in the arcana.
The dragoness is too a outcast by her clan. Most Green dragons are know for there cunning and descriptions. Alas she more of a curious sort. Most of the clan see her as a weakling and nothing else. One day there clan heard rumors there was a elf village in there territory. So tasked her to both find and spy on the villagers. Shes does, but is fascinated by how different, yet the same as her kind is.
For a while she "spies" on the village remembering every little detail of there lives. From the farmers, traders, nobles.
On one day she heard a commotion that a warband of raiders was attacking. Seeing the villagers were being massacred, she selfishly revived herself and attack the raiders. But where too much, she was about to be beheaded, but a elven magician saved here at the last minute and battled the raiders as best he can too. Realising he can't win alone. He freed the dragon and the two battled the raiders together.
After the battles the succumbs to her injuries and nearly dies. The elf please for healer to help stabilizer her. But the milita wants to kill her, due there long history. But the elders agree to heal her on the condition that she vows to never return, more tell other of her the location of the village.
Once healed she's agrees and leaves there village. But before she few away the magician the save asked "If your going to be alone in the world. Mind if I join you. I'm in your debt for saving my life and home"
They agreed that despite there hated and distrust between there kinds. They both knew if it wasn't for the other to save them. They wouldn't be alive today to become friends
