Well in a manner of speaking, it IS a real person you're talking to, if the suiter is good at bringing their character to life. Suiting's like full-body puppetry, as the same holds true for a good puppeteer--if the character is engaging and convincing, you can have an entire conversation with someone's arm covered in fake fur and not think it's stupid. It's the job of the "actor" to MAKE people "believe" in giant talking animals for a short while. =3
