As a cost-saving measure, my employer is "redeploying" people into public health roles.
Half of my work weeks after New Year's will be as a "Public Health Screener," screening people entering buildings to assure they are following guidelines and procedures. I'm willing to do it because it'll prevent furloughs & pay cuts, & I really like my job. I appreciate that they, like comparable employers, have avoided layoffs. I couldn't say I'm excited. It'll make my normal days more frantic and I'm worried about anxiety, tedium on other days.
Thankfully, a friend gave me this hilarious mental image:

but instead of "security" it says "screener" :3
...and, it turns out, I had a bunch of friends who wanted to keep me company!
My worries about the spring are still there, but it feels better to go into it with this comforting, sociable mental image! :==8)
