Wubbzy: Origins

watching more episodes of Wow Wow Wubbzy, Wubbzy actually doesn’t have any parents? the closest thing he has to a mom and dad are Widget and Walden- although they’re only ever described as his “friends”. so i came up with sort of a Wubbzy backstory? Basically, he’s a baby-in-a-basket a la Baby Moses, and College-age Walden and Widget found him while looking for moss/mineral samples in the forest next to their school.

Walden and Widget, i’m thinking, were in some of the same classes, and quickly became friends out of their shared love of science and the outdoors (Widget specializing more in inventions/machinery, and Walden more in natural sciences and art) and of course when they stumbled upon baby Wubbzy, they couldn’t just LEAVE him there. So they picked up the basket and read the note, which said something along the lines of “His name is Wubbzy, and I can’t take care of him, so i’m leaving him in the forest for someone else to find.”

Afterwards, they just take care of him the best they can and soon find that he’s full of energy and able to jump very high, which leads to plenty of chaos. They take care of him like he’s their actual baby until he’s able to move into his own house- Which in the Wubbzy-universe, is basically just the equivalent of getting your own private bedroom. By the time the show starts, Wubbzy is about 10 or 11 years old.
