Riding in the Praries
I miss the praries. Those long warm summers, with endless blue skies and good people, good times. When I was a kid, I would spend all day up and down the bike trails of the city we lived in and on the way out of town there's this long flat open stretch that winds alongside a shallow lake. It's just gorgeous.
So here I challenged myself to draw my character Moxie from behind, while riding a bike. Used one of the photos from my "river walking" collection we've taken on the trail near our house, so unfortunately I don't have anywhere to link it to. :3 I hope you all enjoy.

I'm not sure I could handle the prairies, I'm too used to having mountains, dips and hills everywhere I look.
(apparently, well before he met my mom, my dad almost had a job out in Alberta. He drove as far as the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains, turned and went back. He said he couldn't handle just how flat it was. I'm kind of glad he didn't, as I wouldn't be here now if he had)

I've lived in and out of BC, surrounded by mountains and open in the grasslands, both have their place and both will always have a place in my heart.
I fell in love in Alberta, I grew in alberta, found myself there, and have come home to BC to be with my family and raise my own. I want to go back someday, but these mountains, their mysteries, the secrets they hold, will always pull on my heartstrings too.
