No no it's canon ! Dick from the reboot IS the original one's son ! According to the director he had 3 in total and we would have see the 2 other elder siblings if season 3 of the reboot had not been cancelled. And given how reboot Dick seems to hate the old Wacky Races, is very close to his geandfather as if he was his paternal figure and his face sours up when his father is mentionned, it feels like he resents him and that OG Dick wasn't that present (hencey HC in description). The mom is seen yes, her name is Delilah and she is cold lol

A reboot (even if for the fact he is the son of og Dastardly I rather consider the WR reboot as a sequel but heh it remains vague on it for those who wouldnt watch that episode so whatever) is a whole retake, retelling of a universe, with new versions of the same characters, facts etc like the Ducktales reboot compared to the og Ducktales. A spinoff however, the universe is not retold BUT it's something that happens in the same universe not focusing on the same characters and/or plotline as before, the Mandalorian is a spinoff to the Star Wars series
