Ever since I discovered Anime Convention skits on Youtube, I wanted to get out there an make one of my own. A-Kon gave me the perfect opportunity!
...I made the entire costume myself as well. More on that here:

Making characters is one thing, but acting them out is ENTIRELY another. I wanted to see how well I could animate Wing in real life, and here is the result!
Though I've been to two Anime Conventions in the past, this was my first A-Kon and first performance at one. I was skit three: I also came to realize rather quickly that I was the only one-person skit, and the only skit cosplayer in a fursuit. I will say, I was pretty nervous at first... But, walking out as an original character, I was overwhelmed by the applause I received onstage; thanks so much for the encouragement guys, you all rock! |D
The practice run was held at MSU Anime Club's End-of-the-Year Party on Griffis Hall's Fourth Floor at Mississippi State University. The final Evolution of Dance skit was held at A-kon 21 in Dallas, Texas. I spent a month before the real thing running just about every other day to build up the stamina for this.
This Evolution of Dance was of course inspired by the original, Judson Laipply's!

The Cosplay Contest at A-kon was packed 30 minutes before the show started, so my friends at MSU were unable to enter to film it. Thanks so much to Daarkbringer on Youtube for catching it on film for me!
Enjoy! =)

That was AWESOME! At first I was like, "Ok, dance routine, yeah" (And I used to be on dance team, so you know I was watching your movements and trying to determine how much you'd practiced), but then you STARTED DOING THE SOULJA BOY and I DIED.
I'll be quick to tell you, I could kind of see the nervousness as you first started dancing. Your movements were small and kind of noodly. But as the skit went on, and you got more into it, you really did a great job! Especially in the soulja boy, and the finishing Bad Romance, you really hit the poses and kept on beat nicely, which was HILARIOUS to see Wing doing it!!

Haha, thank you so much! =D
As you can imagine it took a TON of practice, especially since I've never taken any dance lessons before, and I couldn't dance to a beat(let alone dance) when i was in high school to save my life.
And thank you for all the observations! It's awfully helpful for future practices, especially since I couldn't remember a THING when I got offstage. I assume it's due to my nervousness!
Also, did you get to make it to the actual show?

It's some kind of horrible disease that inflicts members of dance teams to criticize the performances of others'. Worse even than the need of artists to critique the less skilled XD
And no, I think I was in a flurry of closing my table. The AA had some WEIRD time confusions going on, and we were suddenly made to close our tables an hour earlier than expected.
