Dex is a personal companion model manufactured by Lapin Cybernetics. Their first consumer line, his design is based on the reconnaissance unit that LC has sold to the government for years. The most noticeable differences between the two is the retail version's hypercapacitor "battery", a less dangerous (and less regulated) alternative to the military machines' low-temp fusion drive.
Practicing pretty much everything in the art and craft of character animation. 3D work takes soooo much time. Especially when you're learning. If this work doesn't kill me, or drive me away from it, and I spend another few weeks (months?) of my time, maybe I'll have an animation to show more of his story, rather than trying to narrate what I'm trying to represent. /headdesk
My oldest Blender backup files are 1 year and 3 days old. I guess this is a landmark or something!

Well, practice does make perfect! (Pfft, no one can be perfect. Don't aim for that! You'll end up tearing your hair out.) I thought it looked amazing, but that is coming from someone who has never animated much in her life . . . unless little flippy books and five-frame animations count. LOL
