Another day...another ruin to pillage! Or, err...treasure hunt. The tabaxi rogue checked her equipment one last time, loading a bolt onto her crossbow and propping it against her bag, before a sharp caw made her ears twitch. Echo grinned and looked behind her.
"Awww, don't worry! I didn't forget about you!"
The roc seemed to huff as it fluttered its massive wings, the bird's beak sharply turning to pick at a loose feather. Echo giggled. Her feathered friend was always a little...high strung, to say the least. Most who saw them figured the roc actually hated her, and, yeah...it sometimes kinda seemed like it! But she knew better. Walking up to the roc, the girl placed her paws against the creature's beak as it swung back around, pressing her forehead up against his. The roc chirped...still a little annoyed, but softer now. They shared a moment of silence as the desert morning rose behind them.
"I'll be okay. I'll call you when I'm done...okay?"
The bird gave one last caw and nodded. Satisfied, Echo then pressed her jeweled feather charm against the roc, the bird disappearing into a sparkle of magic, before clipping it back onto her tail band. Hoisting her backpack over her shoulder and grabbing her weapon, the rogue then turned her attention back toward the dark, looming ruin entrance in front of her. She sighed with a wistful smile.
Here goes another adventure!

Another beautiful commission of Echo in her DnD setting!! This time featuring her roc friend! During her early versions I fell in love with the idea of Echo having a permanent feather charm that gave her a roc mount, and the DM at the time was happy to oblige, and since then it's just kinda stuck~ ^^
