What I have in mind for the design of the Sal ad-Din, a Kahunian freighter that doubles as a very large trimaran, at 578 metres long, 240 metres wide, with an extended sensor suite and long range communications, and ample cargo storage in either 'outrigger'. Also features coil gun array, but it is not visible, being concealed just in front of the bridge in the bow section, ready to deploy. It also has four engines, and one hangar for its shuttle.
I imagine that the outriggers might be detachable in dock, or at the very least able to be accessed easily when loading and unloading.

Having the outriggers being detachable makes sense, since it would drastically reduce the turn around time between the freighter reaching dock and heading out again to its next port of call by removing the need to stay in dock while she was unloaded then reloaded. Just detach the outriggers, tow them away to be unloaded while a new set of fully loaded outriggers are fitted. Time is money as they say and I'm sure its the same in this universe too.
