So yeah, doodling an air ship pirate/traveler/rogue dunno yet man and I figured this man needs a pet.

But what kind of pet.. A bird? A cat? A dog? what??

...How about a giant ant eater looking thing? LOL PERFECT.

So my ideas for WHY an ant eater looking thing.

To eat off all the insects on the ship that may cause harm to the mechanics or storage. She would eat insects, fruits, and grain based foods. Fruit and Bugs would be pretty hard to keep all the time on a ship I figured, so also tossed in the idea she would love freshly baked bread and stuff like that. c:

Rorik would have to do daily tasks to keep his ship in condition from her GIANT claws and so on after scratching up the wood as she walks. She has very large ears that are deep like radio dishes to pick up any buzzing or scurrying of insects around... And big claws cause they are cute. Tiny little dark eyes, she's a smeller and a listener, no need for very good vision in this species, so I'll be keeping the eyes pretty small. Long snout like nose/mouth to wriggle into tight spots or holes where buggies might hide. And of course the long pointed and thin tongue with gooey saliva that any bug touches will be stuck for good!

How did he get such a creature though.... Possibly the fur markets? They would keeps these creatures in herds when they poach them for their long silky fur coats, their glue like saliva, and the meat from their young which is a delicacy in some places. By the time he had found Milly here her long beautiful tail had already been docked and sold off. But the rest of her traumatized self was still intact and he purchased her out of the soft spot in his rough and battered heart.

D'aw, just sounds so cute in my head. c: Every hardened sailor/traveler needs a companion of some kind I think!
