During my stay in Thailand, I had the pleasure of getting to visit a number of indigenous villages. One of those was that of the Karen, grouped into what Thai's call, "Hill Tribes". The community subsists on wet rice cultivation and swidden agriculture and is fortunate enough to retain their culture through grassroots education and cultural programs. While being given a tour of the village, I couldn't help but notice that there was a village dog following us. It mattered not where we went, whether it was in the village, in the fields and up steep hills, the little guy matched us step for step. He seemed fascinated by us visitors and was always excited to get some attention.

I couldn’t resist giving him all the attention he wanted. He is very charismatic.
