I shot this during their nesting season last spring. Out of the photo, just behind this little dude there was a female in a sand nest, and a bunch of other individuals (maybe some more nests too) It's hard to describe their behavior. I have observed Turnstones exibiting pack behavior during the breeding season, but I haven't really had the opportunity to watch them at any other time. They really are fabulous little creatures, like nature's little beach cleaners. Who needs those big lousy noisy combing machines anyway?
