I decided to take the fire element for my monster's theme.
The general thing behind it is that it can assemble anywhere, at any time as long as there is enough burned material available.
Once a basic form has emerged, it start to grow by consuming living materials. Plants, trees, kitties, humans... anything that's not fast enough to escape it's grasp.
In the drawing above, the Spawn of Surtr has just been formed (and is thus incomplete) and will begin searching for 'food' immediatly.

It's something different from the usual doodles, yusyus.
For me personally, it's been too long since I was able to slap down some FX and without my trusty photoshop and it's wide array of filters, I usually don't do glowy or flashy things.
This worked out rather nice though. :3

This went through quite a few phases, which is the reason I submitted it so late.
First it was a water demon, forming from a torrent of water.
Then it was an Earth monster, burrowing out of the ground between grass and rocks.
Ultimately, I just went with a fire/lava thingy, because I couldn't resist slapping on some glowy effect. XD

It's all about the design, not so much the fancy colors I slapped on.
There's a world of difference between our drawings.
Mine: A dark burning blob with spiked things.
Yours: A winged Dragon/Wolf hybrid with shadowy energy flowing from the eyes.
I'd say we both have a nice design.
Just a different art look. :3
