I came across this little guy while hiking in the Metroparks in the summer of 2006. His flight feathers were developed enough that he could fly, don't worry! Robins are the cutest at this stage, when they still have a lot of the spotting on their breasts, and some of their baby feathers are sticking out from various places! I was actually rather surprised that I wasn't attacked by watchful parents while I was shooting. Usually by this age, while the babies are out of the nest, mom is still watching over them to make sure that nobody eats them, or messes with them in general! Although, I am glad that mom didn't show up, because I know from experience, mom robins flying at you in an angry rage is not exactly a picnic in the sun!
