The picture is of Jas in my new show costume (made at MFM 2009 for FWA 2010 - "Carnival") which was based off of my previous show costume. Yes - I have show costumes, and yes, I've had them since long before "Carnival". Jaspian is the first furry character (that I know of) to dress in exotic show costumes, and I am definitely the first fur to take such costumes to a convention. It seems to have become a bit of a trend, as-of-late, so I just wanted to make it known: it started here. :P

Nope. Beowulf started doing the costumes at FC 2006. I started at AC 2004, and I did it at furmeets before that, so I predate him by several years. In fact, he was my roommate at the time when he unveiled his outfit, and I accused him of copying me, since he had seen me in mine several months before at Furfright 2005.

That's not to say he *did* copy me, mind you, but the similarities between his outfit and mine were close enough that it appeared like he was copying me.
I don't want to open up that particular "old wound" so I'll admit that I don't know if he copied me or not. Many of his characters dress like I do, so there's a chance that he did intend to make that outfit before he met me. However, he didn't start dressing like that until after he met me.
Anyway, hope that clears some things up. If you need photo evidence, there's a lot of pics of me at FC 2005 and at the Furfactory 2004/2005 New Year's party on the web, which is where I debuted the 'Ankh' loincloth for "Furs of the Nile". I've since kept that design as my official trademark outfit. ;P

You know, I'm so glad we buried the hatchet over our disagreements on the whole costuming issue we had. Its not at all like you talking about it so elaborately and flippantly as you have wouldnt possibly step on my toes or ACTUALLY open said 'old wound'. I mean, that'd just be silly. Even not mentioning that I commissioned my own costumes half a year before I met you doesnt bother me. Nope, leaving that tidbit out in the face of you implying I copied you isnt the slightest bit discourteous! Not the least bit insulting, not at all!
I mean, its not at all like this whole costuming thing is really important, anyways, right? Just a fun thing to do out at cons for the sake of catching eyes, flirting, and starting conversation.
CERTAINLY not at all something so pivotal to your self-esteem that you'd burst into tears and lock yourself in your room at FC over, right? I mean, what's a piece of cloth? And furthermore, not even REMOTELY close to something you'd beg and plead with me to never wear again at a furry con! Naaaah, not even close. I mean, who'd be so childish! Not you, right?
And definitely not something I would keep a logged 2006 IM conversation over.
