A silent night

Despite everything, the year we had, the pain the world put me through, I still wanted to be happy, and so I got a sweet picture from my friend Ana on discord. A little story to accompany it:
Kevin sighed gently as he sat at the window seat in his room, staring out at the falling snow. The boy had a lot of thoughts in his head that made him slightly depressed. "I miss you dad. I try going on without you but it is really hard." He sighed softly as he looked off into the snow filled backyard. His father, a black wolf named Alex, was walking in with a cup of hot chocolate and sitting next to him, handing it to him. "You okay?"
Kevin accepted the mug handed to him as he sighed and nodded "Yeah, I am fine. Just talking to dad hoping he might hear. Thank you dad." He smiled as Alex kissed his head. "Don't stay up to late bud." He smiled and left. Kevin smiled and silently drank his drink, feeling calm. "I love you dad..."
