American Mustelid Alpha - Episode 1, Part 1, "I'll End Them Myself If I Have To"
Archives || Ep 1, Part 2
Finally here we are! We searched far and wide for the toughest, baddest, most competitive mustelids across the United States, and now forty-five of them are ready to battle to win one of the twelve spots in our show!
In this first installment we begin getting acquainted with some of the main personalities, get to see the whole bunch competing in an elite military fitness test, and regrettably have to say an early goodbye to nearly half of our cast. The road to get in the Burrow is long and treacherous, and not everyone has what it takes to answer Ludwig's standard. Some are already trying to impress the rest of the bunch, while others are forming fast friendships with everyone around. What approach will end up paying dividends?
As always, make sure to enjoy and leave a comment if you like! We're anxiously anticipating any feedback you might throw your way, so don't be shy to entertain us with your thoughts!
Episode 1b, "Steel Or Cardboard", will be out on December 24th!
American Mustelid Alpha is the brainchild of HeadQuarters (the joint project of qovapryi and harlow). All mentioned characters belong to them both.

One of my favorites got cut. Oh well.
Another fur lost that I was surprised to see get let go.
The rest of the time, i was just thinking 'So who is operating the camera? Is it just floating there? Does a ghost control it, is it strapped to a drone, or is someone physically holding it?'
Overall, the story is definitely formatted to look like a proper reality-styled television program. But much like a reality-t.v. show, it was difficult to keep track of seperating the characters into their distinct personalities. Maybe it'll be easier to do that once it is down to the final 12.
I was also expecting Ludwig to have an accent of some sort, given his name.
My least favorite of the characters was the jailer and 'rudder nation.'

It's a long road ahead, and the cards got to fall for some in the way of others. Can't wait to showcase their paths to you, and hold hope for your favorites!
There is a constant crew and staff indeed, but as hands-off as possible to let the guys shine, but indeed some drone shots are helpful, technology!
If Ludwig had an accent, it would most likely be somewhat of a Jersey one, fun fact.
Thanks for the comment, stay tuned for more!
