By the way, do you know what martial arts Dez is using here? I'm thinking it looks a bit like a form of Caipoera, but I could be wrong.

Well since i never really got to explain his style in u-turn:

Dez uses a form of self taught skills. From being very laid back his fighting reflects his calm attitude and plenty of unexpected twists such as drunken monkey's surprise tactics. Keeping calm faces no matter what, sometimes fighting with hands in the pockets and also using surprise elements. Mostly the fighting style all revolves around countering since he likes to wait and be lazy he'll use another's force against them. He uses elbows and knees alot because of the amount of power he can put behind it. No formal teaching, just a guy with incredible strength and speed who uses it lazily.

Ah, I see, so it's a kind of freestyle defensive martial arts style. Sorta reminds me of this character called "Muugen" from an anime called 'Samurai Shamploo'. He has a similar self-taught, freestyle swordsmanship style with a bunch of unpredictable moves thrown into the mix.

Wasn't it? Samurai Champloo is one of my personal favorite anime series. There were plenty of things about that show that made it stand out from other animes I've watched.

Someday I might watch the whole series again, it's been a couple of years now. :)
