Chapter 14: Domination

Alpha, Britney, Fang, Dug, and Jonathon stand at the top of the big table-top mountain. They look off in the direction where the floating jet was staying afloat in the air. The group start walking slowly towards Carl’s house. Alpha stops suddenly and knew Wane had to be there. He walks quietly up to the house and looks through one of the broken windows.

Alpha- Yep, someone is defiantly here, I can feel it. What business do they have coming here anyway Fang?

Fang walks up to the side of the house and looks through the window with Alpha,

Fang- Well I am certain Wane is after your new master. I mean think about it, if he finds some type of evidence or the address of a retirement home that will be where he targets. You told us that this man Carl Frederickson has the dogs now. So that might be what Wane is looking for in that house.

Inside the Jet, Charlie looks down and shakes his head. He gets on his collar’s communicator and warns Wane that Alpha and the others were at the house. Charlie goes down to the first floor of the jet where they kept classified information. He smiles and he puts a sealed tape in the vault and makes his way back up to the cockpit. Meanwhile, Alpha makes his way to the porch of the house. He looks around and notices a lot of damage has been done to the house. Windows were broken and the walls were starting to rot. This did not look good in Alpha’s eyes.

Alpha- So, who has been messing with this house Fang? This house did not look like this the last time I saw it, which was a year ago now. Who else knew our master’s location?

Britney- Look guys I am probably the party pooper here, but I think we are about to walk into a trap. Lets head back to the jungle and wait for your pack there. I know you said they will be picking you and Dug up tomorrow morning?

Alpha shook his head yes, he totally forgot about the deadline. Tomorrow was Friday, the end of their adventure. Alpha and Dug still don’t know who were the real killers behind Burns, Chester, Tommy, and Jeremy. Alpha was going to get answers one way or another. He tells everyone to wait outside the house. He walks up to the porch and looks at the front door with the several locks on it. He took a deep breath and took his paw and barely knocked on the door. The front door fell in and landed loudly on the floor inside. Alpha big-eyed was shocked, he wanted to keep it quiet, but whoever was there knew he was coming in now. He makes his way into the tiny foyer and makes his way to the staircase. He looks into the room directly behind the stairs, which led to the dining room. The room off to Alpha’s right was leading to the empty living room.

Alpha- where did all his stuff go? I am sure this house was not empty a year ago? Did someone rob him? Well I must find evidence of why these sick wolves are here.

Alpha makes his way up the stairs, his fat belly squished on the stairs as he tried getting upstairs. He finally made it to the top and looked down. His ears perked up. He thought he heard someone or something shuffling downstairs. He looks over the railing and catches enough visibility to the living room. He did not see anything. He makes his way to the bedroom on the left hand side of the 2nd floor hallway. Alpha enters the room and immediately starts sniffing for clues. There was a single dresser and nightstand along the back wall. In the middle was a bed. Alpha was tempted to hop up and go to sleep, but he had a job to do. He looks at the nightstand and opens the top drawer with his mouth. There was all kinds of junk in the drawer. Health insurance, receipts, home owners manuals, life insurance, mortgage bulletins, advertisements for retirement homes, wait Alpha found one retirement home that he recognized right off the bat. He pulls it out and sets it on the bed. The bulletin read: Shady Oaks Retirement. The address was on the back of the bulletin.

Alpha- Bingo, this is what those filthy wolves are after I must tell Jonathon the………

Alpha turned around and a huge grey wolf stands in the doorway, it was Wane! He walks over to Alpha and sees the bulletin. He smiles and picks it up and flips it to reveal the address. He snaps a picture of the back with his built in camera and turns his head and smiles at Alpha.

Wane- Ha ha ha, you will never learn will you mutt? When will you get it through your thick skull, you are not saving anyone Doberman. You are only postponing the enetbitable. Why continue to fight when you already lost?

Alpha- You have a lot of nerve wolf! You killed your own family member today. You know Riley was a good and kind wolf, and you took his life! You will pay in the end Wane I promise you that!

Wane evil laughs at Alpha and walks to him mockingly,

Wane- I must say Doberman, I underestimated you. I really thought you lost the old you, but you still managed to find out what we are up to. You are very resourceful and very predictable. You know Burns would be so proud of you Henry.

Alpha snarls angerly at Wane- YOU DON”T EVER BRING THAT NAMKE UP GAIN!! You killed him didn’t you?! DIDN’T YOU?!!!! You and I have unfinished business Wane, you just made this personal!

Wane attacks Alpha and holds him down on the floor. Alpha tries to break free but can’t Wane was incredibly strong.

Wane- Let me explain something to you Henry, I really am getting tired of you. I will eliminate you if you do not stand down. Now do yourself a favor and go with Jonathon and live out the rest of your life, because if you don’t, and you interfere again, you and I will fight to the death, Do I make myself perfectly clear now?

Wane releases Alpha who gasped for air. Wane calls Charlie to start up the jet. Wane starts walking down the stairs and makes his way to the ground floor. He calls for Ralph who was guarding the rear of the house. The two wolves make their way outside and Ralph goes up the rope first. Alpha gets up off the ground, his eyes were dilated and he was furious. He makes his way down the stairs and sees Wane about to take the rope to pull him up to the jet. Wane grabs hold and he starts going up. Alpha lunges for the end of the rope and climbs up the rope. The pully system stalls out and the jet can’t take off.

Charlie- Wane how much food have you been eating lately? I can’t take off there is too much counterweight on the pully system. What is going on down there?

Wane- I don’t know I should be the only……. Wane looks down and sees Alpha going for his leg. Wane snarls and starts kicking trying to keep Alpha from getting to him. Alpha bites his foot and crawls up to Wane and they were face to face in mid air! Wane smiles and looks down to the ground, it was a long way down for Alpha to drop.

Wane- hey buddy, if I was you, I would climb down now. If you don’t you will die tonight, but don’t worry, you’ll see your precious father again.

Wane claws Alpha in the chest and Alpha slides down the rope and grabs the end of the rope with his mouth. He dingles in the air holding on for dear life. He looks down the roof to the house was directly below him. Charlie tries to take off, he puts the throttle all the way up but the jet could not move! He loses patience and Charlie gets on the loud speaker,

Charlie- Wane, shake him off! We cannot move until that dog is off the rope! Hurry up and get him off so we can head back to the base!

With that Wane was not playing around anymore he slides down and lands on top of Alpha. He takes his claws and he swipes his nose, this causes Alpha to let go and he falls and lands crashing through the roof of Carl’s house. Wane looks through the opened cockpit Alpha just made and laughs. Charlie pulls him up and Wane shouts from the window.

Wane- we are officially at war with those idiot dogs! Tomorrow morning we will be back and we will wipe out the remaining members of the dog pack and we will finally win! Then that bird will be ours, we will take it back and Master Cole will receive the recognition he finally deserves! Jonathon, you had made your choice now you will pay the price for the choices you have made! FAREWELL LOOSERS!

The jet takes off and it heads back to the jungle bellow. Jonathon and the crew stand there trying to process what just happened. Britney immediately runs inside and looks for Alpha. He was laying under a pile of wood that fell on top of him from where he fell through the roof!

Jonathon rushed inside and helped Alpha. Alpha was hurt, but luckily not to severe. Jonathon helped Alpha onto a mat in the corner of the living room and treated his injuries. Fang was beyond mad with Wane. After Wane had done he wanted him to go. It appeared to Fang that Wane was now the new leader of the wolf pack. This did not surprise him one bit. Jonathon treated Alpha’s injuries and they all decided to turn in for the night. It was a bad day, Riley was eliminated, Dug and Alpha were chased by the wolves and just now Alpha got injured by Wane.

Jonathon- we must get out of here ASAP in the morning. I do not want your dogs to get involved with these wolves. They are dangerous. Wane will stop at nothing to make sure your pack ceases to exist. So, as soon as we spot that blimp, we gun it and leave before those wolves show up. Otherwise we are toast. Let’s get some sleep guys and we will figure out what to do in the morning.

Alpha- wait, before I turn in I need to update my pack on what’s going on. They are probably sleeping right now, but we must alert them. Beta is the one who will get the alert first and warn the others first thing in the morning. So with that, he starts sending data back to the blimp’s onboard computer.

Meanwhile, Beta was curled up in Alpha’s dog bed. He was snoring away, The room was dark with a single dimlit lamp on the table in the corner of the room. Beta was woken up when his collar vibrated on his neck, this meant he was receiving messages from Alpha. Beta stood up and stretched his meaty body his bulling ball head was tilted slightly. Beta was sleepy, he did not want to have to go inside the blimp and power everything on. But he must though if he wanted to find out the awful news about what was going on at Paradise Falls. Beta walks into the hallway, and makes his way to the side door. He unlocks it and pushes the door open with his nose. The Rottweiler quietly made his way onto the deck outside, which had tables and chairs along the window and wall of the building. In the middle of the deck were a couple of rocking chairs. Beyond the deck was the giant open field with the dark blimp in the middle. It was quiet too, which meant the other dogs that stayed in the blimp were still sleeping.

Beta- alright, I must be quiet. I don’t want to wake the others. It is still nighttime though, I am curious to know what time it is. Hey Collar, what is the current time?

Collar- The current time is 2:45AM.

Beta shook his head annoyingly, He did not want to be up this early but he was, and while he was up everyone else was still sleeping. The only light Beta got was from the porch light that illuminated the entire deck and flooded out into the field. Beta made his way to the base of the blimp, luckily the bridge was down that led inside the airship. He enters the quiet and dark structure and makes his way to the museum, where all of Charles Muntz’s greatest findings stood. Skeletons, sculptures of animals and much more. Beta made his way to the back of the room and came to a hallway. He went off to his left which led to a stairwell that led to the upper levels. He made his way to the second floor which had cabins and the control room was located there as well. He walked quietly to the end of the hall and came to the door to the control room. He opened the door quietly and stepped inside and turned on the light. Beta powered on the computer and opened the communication files and transferred everything from his collar that Alpha sent him.

Beta- oh my dog, this is not good. Alpha and Dug are in a bind nd need to be picked up right away! I must warn the others, but it is still early in the morning yet. He saw everything, the destruction of the call of the wild, the encounterment with Wane, and Alpha getting injured. Beta was ready to tell the others and warn Fredrickson that Alpha and Dug needed to be picked up. Just as Beta was getting ready to leave He stops suddenly as he heard a terrible cough sound come from the retirement home. He walks to the window and sees one of the bedroom lights turn on. It was Fredrickson’s room. Beta had terrific hearing, just as all dogs do. He did not like the sound he was hearing. He turns off the light to the control room and heads back to the bridge. Then he heard a scream come from the home, it was Maria’s voice shouting Carl’s name and a panic filled the home! Beta runs and makes his way to the side door and enters the home. He runs directly to Carl’s room who was being put on a gurney by the emergency services.

Beta- what the dog is going in here?! What happened?!

Maria- well he was getting up to use the bathroom, he started walking and that is when he started coughing uncontrollably and he collapsed! But the ambulance will take care of him. He is on his way to the hospital now.

Beta- NO, I must speak with him it is urgant! Dug and Alpha could be in grave danger I must tell him what is going on in South America!

Maria- I am sorry Beta but he won’t be back for quite a while. I am sorry, he will pull through I know he will. He still has memories to make.

Maria steps out into the night and makes a personal call. Beta was not taking any chances He runs back to the blimp and makes his way to the cockpit. He starts the blimp up and rises into the air. He starts making a course to Paradise Falls. Then he walks into the intercom room and wakes up the sleeping dogs and tells them to all meet Beta in the situation room. The groaning and moaning dogs yawned and stretched and walked to the situation room like zombie dogs, half asleep and wanting to go back to sleep.

Beta- alright everyone stop your moaning. We have another job to do, we are already in the air and we are getting Dug and Alpha. We have 4 hours at best to reach them. So we need to hustle and get ready for their return. I do not want to get caught in a battle with those wolves, because what Alpha told me they been giving him and Dug hell since they landed. So let’s run in there get them and head back home. Second bit of bad news, Master Carl just went to the hospital, he was having a cough attack and Maria found him collapsed, Now we cannot tell Dug and Alpha what’s been going on here, because they got there own troubles, so once we recover them we will tell them on the way back home.

The dogs all stare at Beta in shock and despair. They were sad for what happened to Master. They accepted their assignments and everyone took point, Beta and Gamma were at the wheel controlling the flight. Beta and Gamma set a marker on the map to where exactly they needed to land. Beta pulled up the files that Alpha sent to him and read through them all very carefully.

Beta- Gamma you know what’s od, is this mission that this guy Fernando gave to Dug and Alpha from the very beginning. Why do you think he wanted them to go back to South America so quickly? I’ll tell you why, he was trying to kill them. I am looking at Everything that Alpha sent us all week and they had been in nothing but trouble. They ran into three traps that weren’t ours. And they almost got blown away by landmines placed at their camp. I am telling you, something is not adding up here.

Gamma- yeah, I really think this entire mission was to wipe out Dug and Alpha, and by doing that, they thought laying traps and blowing them up would work.

Beta- so it turns out Fernando is gone, Alpha and Dug and a group of other dogs found out about the truth of him and removed him from the bigger picture. This guy Cole Arnoldson, and the wolf pack leader by the name of Wane are the remaining threats that must be removed. This guy Wane apparently killed one of his own, because the wolf was helping Dug and Alpha escape. See I have everything they have been facing Gamma. Now we know who was behind it all. Cole and his wolves.

The blimp starts making its way over the gulf of Mexico and back at the Falls, The group were out except Alpha. He could not sleep. He was sore from the attack with Wane. He sat up and saw a scrap book that read: My Adventure Book. Alpha flips through the pages and sees the happy times with Carl and Ellie. He started to tear up a bit, this made him even sadder. He wanted to face Wane once and for all and take back control of his family. Alpha closes the scrap book and gets up and walks outside. He wanted to know the time, the collar said: 4:30Am. Dawn was going to be approaching soon. Alpha was not looking forward to the day that lied ahead. It was going to be a dark day for sure, because he already knew that Beta would not make it in time to escape the wolves.

Back at the base Wane was commanding every wolf to play their part. He wanted Britney captured for sure and Alpha. He was going to make Britney have Hybrids, and Alpha suffer to his last breath. The time was drawing near, he knew that they called for help and try and slip away. Wane wasn’t having it. He ordered everyone up and move out to the falls ASAP. Cole was monitoring their feed from the bridge. He wanted to see his wolves in action and the big Alpha wolf himself end his greatest enemy. The wolf pack followed Wane through the woods and they now had eyes on Paradise Falls. Dawn was approaching, and the gates of hell were just opened.
