carrotwolf asked me to teach him how to draw, and so I came up with this. It's not perfect because I'm not a master artist, but hopefully it'll help someone.I'll probably do more when I have more time.
Protop: Draw from photos, not other artists. Once you have an understanding of basic anatomy, THEN draw from other artists to adapt your style. It's much easier to simplify correct anatomy than to correct simplified anatomy, in my opinion.
EDIT: Neck too small, fffff

Ahh, I see - oh, how I envy the ability to naturally scale a character; I fail miserably without a point of reference and pincering my fingers down the page to figure out where joints are. I'm running on the old textbook 8 heads, but always have to artificially inflate the bonce at the end because otherwise my girls look 10 feet tall :/
wow really great reference! and the 7 head scale makes a lot of sense or 6 for female as i read above. ive gone back to the "how to draw...animals" sites online to start over. i did all the art classes years ago ...was going to be an art teacher. but ive decided to start over from scratch and this is really useful!! thanks!!
Actually, the neck doesn't look too skinny. It's just angled back more than most people hold their heads. You've got it perfectly vertical, whereas most guys have it angled forward much like Vince Offer's mugshot.
