Just Another Hangover
Another late Hindsight in 2020 draw. This is one I wanted to do from a while back.

Everyone remember Skye Davis? She's back yay!
I just felt like this one needed a glow up. It had good potential and I did always like how she herself looked outside of a lot of errors and mistakes and stuff just not being neat enough. But aside from general improved anatomy, the background also needed a lot of touching up where it was wonky or just... badly designed?
Why is her bed in the middle of the room with no backboard at all behind the random assortment of pillows, with a table behind the corner of the bed but with a massive gap between it and the wall with nothing there?
I can tell you it definitely isn't what I imagined when I think about the layout of her room XD but looking at the original now, it's exactly what it is.
Also that spotlight is over her reading corner but rather than being behind the bean chair so that it can illuminate what she is doing, it's pointed right at whoever is sitting there XD not comfortable. Or you know you could just use the lamp right next to it?
Also who has clanky blinds in a bedroom XD
Also apparently she lived in a vois
Also apparently her mattress is made out of a blue brick.
WELL NO MORE!
She's still crashing in her jacket but to be fair I'm that lazy too. Now her room sorta makes some semblance of sense, and it feels like an actual space someone lives in XD
The perspectives still aren't right cus I drew the character first and then the backround since I honestly didn't know if this was going to succeed or not, and then I had to make the angles make sense. I went a bit crazy doing the background lol.
Also I forgot to give her any curtains XD maybe they're being repaired.
I've since gained some better understanding on how to do ripped clothes and stuff. And creases in bedsheets, general weight of anatomy, etc. Not to mention expressions. (I love expressions.)

The idea of the original, which I guess still rains true, is this young lady Skye Davis, has just woken up groggy and tired in the morning after a night of hanging out with her friends at bars and clubs. She may have had a little much to drink, as the night becomes somewhat of a blur after a while. Apparently she made it home, at least. Just with a bit of a hoarse voice, burning sleepy eyes, and may have been sleeping in a poor position, as she can't seem to feel her legs.
She's in for a surprise as she finally drags herself awake and finds this strange new transformation she's undergone!
Just what happened last night?
Maybe when she finds her phone, it'll contain some clues?
Right now though, Skye doesn't quite know what to do.

Her snake tail is so amazingly well done omg
And I agree with what Kie-Dough said, the way you drew her coils' positioning and the bed really makes you feel her snake half's weight.
I can't really pinpoint the exact reason, but the way you draw lamias is perfect. The proportions of the human and snake halves (length, width; I've seen a lot of lamia art with tails that are unreasonably small), the pointy ears for added inhuman-ness (if that makes sense), the reaction of someone who's just been transformed into a mythical creature in the real, modern world... It's fun to imagine how events might unfold from there.

Hehe I feel you hit the nails on the heads.
Honestly I'm glad my tails resonate with people, I jsut gradually improved them cus I draw them the way that feels good and right, and I'm always trying to play with that weight.
I love to imagine being a naga and living as one and different characters living as nagas and how that feels and what it means and what they need.
Snakes are livign creatures and not magic hypno-ropes. I don't want a naga or snake or lamia to be too short either, sure, they gotta have some coiling power, but I really *don't* like oens too long, and so many people draw snakes and nagas/lamia with just mountains of long coils. And while sure it's great for coiling a room full of people simultaniously, how do you think that creature lives? How do they move around? how do they live wherever they live?
I feel after a certain point of coils, they start to really not mean anything anymore.
Also like, snakes are just long bodies of muscles and bones and other creature things. They have organs, they abide by biological rules, I at least like to remain within reasonable territory on that front XD
Anyways thank you for your comment hehe. I'm glad you like it!

This is a great pic! I'm assuming she transformed on the night out and is just realizing this, and it's really well telling- excellent clear room that doesn't feel barren, can see bits of scales on her tail, details like the torn shoes are present, and her expression is excellent.
Actually just read the bottom text explaining the pic, im an idiot lol.

I like it!
With her face and the clothes on her it did seem like she turned into a naga from a normal human, but it wasn't 100% entirely sure if that was what was actually going on so i had to read the description to figure that out.
But the art by itself does a wonderful job at conveying that she should not be a naga by the ripped clothes on her tail and her face of just pure terror
The art itself looks AMAZING as well.
i think i'll have to learn more about perspective before i get to this level personally.
