Yes and no. They're just time consuming because I have to allow a day to dry between adhesive coats and I have to do it "juuust so" or else it turns out not the way I like it. Also, I use a scalpel to cut everything away and that's kind of hard on my hand, so I have to psych myself up to make more ;/ I've had scalpel blades fling off into the air several times while working on these. I wear safety goggles :D
break off. my boyfriend's a scientist so I inherited a lot of misc. tools x_x but yeah it requires a lot of pressure to cut through the material sometime so these aren't optimal but x-actos wear down way too quickly so it's a trade off. I bought the safety goggles after one broke off the first time. Don't need another warning other than that!
break-offs come in different sizes. if you employ the small ones, try the large ones, they are more sturdy and of course, allow a better grip. if you buy a plastic one or a metal-housing variant might depend on how much bvrute force you need to apply... or maybe try a carpet knive? they would wear off, too, but at least the blades won't break off.
if they do, however, I would start to worry.

Hrm..I'll look into these other options. Thanks! Yeah the breaking off is a problem. I also managed to get some "non disposable" scalpels from a local hospital (new of course, just not needed lol) so I'm going to try those out. Safety goggles on of course, just in case.
