Hello! It's been a while since I wanted to try coloring one of my drawings, and being completely honest It's not the first time I tried. But it just happens that I am absolutely terrible at painting and never managed to finish one that I liked... I'm not very satisfied with this one, but from my perspective it came out okay enough to upload, so may as well share it.
Let me know what you think! Hope you like it!

Answering your question, yes I still keep an eye on the suggestion box!
Unfortunately time is short and there are many suggestions i'm not comfortable with doing while others fall more into commission territory, which suggestions aren't for. I wouldn't want this to discourage anyone to keep submitting things though! I appreciate it a lot from anyone who wants to share ideas thei'd like to see drawn. Also, there are some of them on my "to do" list already!

I took a look at your front page, and didn't actually see any commission information listed, nor did I see it in your journal.
I'm sure I've seen you've done them, are they closed for the time being?

I might have not expressed myself correctly, sorry. I did a raffle for a free commission two years ago at the end of the TF Week, but never actually opened to take commissions. I just meant that some submissions to the box are a bit too picky to be considered as mere suggestions. Not that they should be asked as commissions, since I didn't take any.
Unfortunately I cannot say if there will be commissions in the future, since I cannot commit to a statement in that regard.

Hey that looks really good! Especially the faces and hair work out nicely I think. I never imagined the witch to have white hair, but in hindsight it does make a lot of sense ^^’
But I also see what you mean with your criticism, I think you’re being a bit hard on yourself though, I’d look over the highlights on clothing and skin a bit, perhaps ways to smooth and blend the highlights a bit, but other than that I think you’re good. Remember, practice is the most important here and every attempt you make and every drawing you finish gets you better over time. Good luck on your journey there, I’m looking forward to where it leads :)

Thank you for your comment and your insight! I'm curious. How did you imagine her?
I decided to go for a "flatter" style since I think it fits best with how I draw (and because anything else is way over my skill level, i tried...), but will definitely keep what you said in mind and try it for future projects!

Admittedly I usually don’t think too much about colours on black and white drawings ^^’
But probably something a bit lighter, not necessarily blonde or something in that direction, but a bit on the desaturated side.
Sorry, I really didn’t think too much about colours, but I do like the white hair, don’t get me wrong here, I think that is a pretty good look :D
And yeah, I see what you mean with the flatter style, it does fit pretty nicely. Especially the hair is working well for a more cel-shaded look. The one thing I’d point out is the highlight on the chest, that could be something to look at for a more cel-shaded lighting approach with slightly more uniform shapes, since the individual strokes stand out a bit.

it looks amazing! I don't like people beating themselves down, if you want to try something new with your art then go ahead and do it, you may think you're bad at painting but you really aren't you actually pretty good at it, also the effects around the changing parts of the girl make it actually look a lot more like magic, you should try painting more of your drawings someday
