Yay other rat lover! My boyfriend thinks Im nuts cause I have so many rats. 7 total not including the babies. And that Im willing to pay to get the female spayed so she can be with my 2.3 year old male rat who needs a buddy. I want to keep him around for as long as I can and since I work full time and have other animals at home I cant keep him out all the time. He doesnt get along with other male rats who have reached 3mths old or older but he loves the girls.
I work in a petstore and I always pick the ones that dont look quite right. I have one that has had bald spots on his back since he was little (he has rex fur so thats probably the reason for it, he doesnt have mites and he isnt super itchy), I have one that is blind with cataracts and small eyes(he gets along quite well either way), a naked rat who is a huge scaredy cat. There have been more that I've wanted to scoop up but dont have the space for it.

17?? I dont think I could handle that, bad enough I only found homes for 5 out of the 11 I had. I still have 6 left but have fallen in love with 4 of them so Im just trying to find a home for 2 of them. I was lucky that only 2 were female so I could put the rest in with my once small colony of males. My colony is now 10 and I found a home for the mom and 2 girls.
