Looks like Fahren managed to find himself a sponsor! And a surgeon!
Ever since he was old enough to fly, Fahren's been on the wing, carvin' up the sky! He likes to boast about the fact he's spent more time in the air than on the ground. Whether or not that fact is ACTUALLY true is up for debate, but regardless, it sure shows in his ability to do JUST about anything in the air.
Growing up, Fahren's always been a competitor, always itching to take a bet and spread his wings! In late adolescence, he got serious about showing up for organized races on his home island, but found himself soon migrating literally across oceans to take part in larger and larger events all over the world. He has routinely displayed incredible flying prowess out on the track, and in spite of (or possibly thanks to) his relatively diminutive size for a night fury, he has turned out to be a formidable foe, no matter the locale; landing himself podium finishes at twelve of the thirty or so large events he's been a part of, and taking home first place five times.
But rumor has it there's a new class of dragon racing on the horizon.. Twice the speed, twice the danger! Augmentation? Requires surgery? Oh yes~. It's EVERY racer's wet dream, baby!
J E T P A C K S
But.. it was only rumors for many years. That is, until Fahren's latest gold medal finally caught the attention of a prospective crew chief who pulled him aside for a little chat~ Before he could EVEN finish, Fahren was doing cartwheels in the air!! YES YES YES!!
Long story short, with a couple holes poked in his neck, a real team, and an official set of cutting edge hardware, Fahren is ready to take the next LEAP for dragonkind, up into the wild blue yonder!
Shit's about to get REAL~
---
Fahren's actually already raced with these several times, but the sport is so new that this is still the very first season of this new class, and everyone's still trying to get a bearing on exactly how to handle flying with nearly 1200N of thrust screaming behind their ears. It's been a rough start for everyone involved, but even so, Fahren's already shown great promise, and has even pulled off some incredible, death-defying overtaking maneuvers, earning him the nickname "Wildcard" amongst his peers. Just when you think you've seen it all, he's always got one more Ace up his scaly little sleeve.
So race him.. Race him if you dare~ >3
Engines are loosely based off the TJ150 turbine engine, seen here in this short video:

but the engines he's wearing are nowhere near as modern and optimized as the ones in the video, and thus produce less power, but also require less fuel to run.
Special thanks to
Moonski for helping me do this INCREDIBLE commission! You never cease to amaze!

There is someone who can challenge that jep dragon, it is future fury, he is from another planet, his name is ostroni and he uses such advanced technology and the jep is modern, so future will win him because he creates it fast and goes at the speed of the light with its advanced technology creates whatever hehehe also creates ships for racing improved engines and a green nuclear propeller I don't know what they call it but it is mega powerful the ship resists a lot of so much speed and arrives from a few seconds
Ah yes..~ I remember the first practice lap I watched, admiring zealously from the stands as you whipped around faster than an ignited typhoomerang! That was the first prototype... and this one makes you look quite intimidating I must say.~ Good luck to anyone that gets to trail behind these little dragons huge wingspan, you'll need it x3
Oof, yeah. That was embarrassing as shit. I know you know this, but for everyone else listening, these are MUCH harder to control than you'd think. Yes, they send you careening forward, but they also torque you over because they're mounted above your center of gravity, so they're always trying to aim you toward the ground. In addition to that, the angled ducts at the ends also push your lower back slightly down as well, giving you about ten pounds of downforce. Why the hell do you need downforce if you're not a car? You don't. And it sucks. But it's necessary so that your tail doesn't get absolutely barbecued by the heat of these things.
And before you say it! Cuz I KNOW someone's gonna say it! Dragons are NOT fireproof! They might be resistant up to about ten seconds of intense heat, but against a sustained, thousand degree jetblast? Get outta here.
Pff, huge wingspan? I'm as average as night furies come! Most people just don't draw them with anatomically accurate wingspans.. But thank you. X3 And yeah, intimidating! Rerrrr~ I love the way these look SO so much!

*Gives a genuine salute of respect, then unlatches all the straps, pulls both the fuel lines, and sets the whole apparatus down on the ground. Now back to being an unmodified dragon, I hunker down and spread my wings, sporting a genuinely excited smile. The point isn't necessarily to win, but to learn. And I'm quite sure there's a hell of a lot I could learn from you!*
Hehe, you ready?!
(No need to actually continue this if you don't want. Just a fun little side scene.)

Very well. *wings are getting prepared, as hexagonal pattern of the drawing on the entire fabric of membranes is now visible, now that inner layer is exposed after wings are stretched out* This is going to be fun :)
Show me what ya got
(It seems like an actual fun to write, so far it breaks my boredom greately.)

Well, assuming you don't wind up with an angry rivalry, or any physical injuries, just wind down by hanging out with the drakes you just raced, all the spectators, too; share a drink or two, and be merry. In any and all ways you can think of~ ... I mean, racing just for fun or for bragging rights is fine and all, but sometimes the rewards can be a little more.. rewarding.. than just a shiny gold disk you get to hang around your neck~ That's why the dangerous, unsanctioned races are still PLENTY popular.
Oh, of course! If you look back to the previous giant ref sheet, here (caution, NSFW):

on the bottom right, you can see the little metal caps just laying flush on my neck as I yawn. The whole thing just gets strapped on like a backpack, and either myself, or a helper, can insert or remove the fuel lines when needed. They spring shut when you yank out a line.
As technologies improve, we can upgrade. But even MORE fun than that, is using the fuel for OTHER things! Wrist mounted plasma torches, anyone? Or fireball cannons?! OuO

Hey! We've all good somethin' that does it for us! I imagine it's like anything to do with high performance machinery, like pin ups in photoshoots with street race cars. It's just got that.. vibe to it, I don't even know. That kind of showy-off, alpha male vibe.
But seriously, thank you! I'm terribly sorry I somehow missed this comment before, but I appreciate you making it very much!

Woah! Thank you! I do try very hard to make anything I do as based on real science as I can. Well.. apart from the whole magic and telepathy thing, but honestly, after nine years of existence, it's fun, if not slightly necessary, to dabble in the fantasy realm from time to time. Though, I like to think that I actually use those abilities infrequently enough that it's more tastefully done than "just who I am," if that makes any sense.
Oh my god, YES PLEASE. I've wanted more dragon racing content for years! I'd put money down straight away for an awesome image like that!
