Eh.. Far as I'm concerned.. It's just a car. Resale value isn't important to me. If putting an LS1 in makes it more enjoyable (to me) and destroys the value.. Oh well..

That would be a fun car :p I'd have one as well. For the track. But I'd go crazy and do a 20b or a 26b and really have a monster. But for track/show use only. In all the Miatas I had (4) There was never a point in which I wanted more power in it. It's so much more fun to drive to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

You'd understand after blowing something like your 3th rotary engine 13b are nice only when you know how to work on them else they are complete nightmare

I know that they're not that reliable. But taking shortcuts by throwing in a V8 engine is a sin in my opinion. :P

In my opinion too, but I understand that most people realise that rotary are crap when they already have the car with a blown engine under the hood, and a ls1 make lot of power and can take a lot of abuse, much more than a rb or jz, and more torque is better for drifting(lots of drift cars got this engine)

Meh, it's cheating. I just don't understand the fact that they just don't buy the stupid American car instead of ruining it. (Yes, I think throwing American in Japanese cars is ruining the car. :P)

I think that way too, but i just say why they do it, i'd rather have a ka24 soch under the hood of my 240 than a LS

i have 3 rx-7S and an rx-8 and i have never blown a rotary yet and drive the shit out of them!!! they are like a slut they can take it HARD!!!!!all day and night and keep asking for more. you just need to tune them right and take care of them, most people are to stopid to do that. so they blame the engine.

And a lot of people throw synthetic oil in them and ruin the seals. People need to be a lot more educated with these engines before they buy them. ><

Every RX7 I have ever seen alive shits oil smoke like it's going out of style. They had a terrible design for the oiling system, they burn oil worse than my Saturn at it's worst.

as i seid people are too stupid to take good care of them its not the engines falt i have had 9 of them and only 1 of the 9 smoked they are very good engines just not for kids!! I love all of my rotary engines and they are very good to me. I have no beef with them, they were an ingenious design. Less moving parts = Reliability; LESS SHIT TO FAIL.

the less parts the better. If I recall, they can handle up to like 10,000RPM's with out hurting it.

yes 10,000 is not very hard on them with lighter rotors but it is hard on the tranny and clutch the redline on my rx-8 is 9,000 RPM stock and I hite every time i drive it. They did very good in racing and won the le mans 24 hour with a NA 2.6l

I'm not mad at anyone, I'm just sick of the bad rep that people give the engine its always here say my friend sed my dad sed, I here it all the time, I cant go to a car show without hearing someone trying to B.S. me about it, or try to buy MY!! car to stick a fucking LS1 in it or tell ME!! I sould do it to my car, And i'm very sick of V8 rx-7 the rx is a very unique car because it's one of the only cars to NOT have a piston engine and it defeats the whole pount to put one in it that is very stupid to me and and people are all like cool look a V8. now it has a V8 or a piston engine like everything else on the fucking road >>>sorry to rant about it, its not at you its just me ranting.<<< it just bugs the shit out of me.

There is nothing wrong with those engines in the least, you just have to know how to work on them and how to maintain them.

At least a Nissan inline would be a lot better than a Goddamn American V8. In my opinion, I'd keep it rotary. If you don't know how to maintain them, or work on them... you shouldn't own the car in the first place.

Personally, I'd want an FC with an LS1. Hell, I'd rock an MX5 with an LS1. They basically are the modern day Cobra's.

(I'd have an FC and MX5 with a 20B rotary though too ;))

Same here. There is nothing quite like the sound of a ported rotary. But I wouldn't use it for a street engine. They don't have much torque. I'd have one for a race engine all day though. Personally.. An RX7 with an LS1 would be perfect if I wasn't such a Miata fan X3
