Essentially, Luna Yoshi (the character) was a part of an empire full of yoshi gods that has since fallen. Everything is broken or missing. Almost everyone is gone. Diskmaster was Luna's loyal guard. They've both been through a lot and now, little remains. The once-thriving sanctuary is in ruins.

This is actually a sort of depiction of actual events. I used to have a website and accompanying message board dedicated to Yoshi that housed my artwork. It was really popular around the turn of the century. We've lost touch with almost all of the people that frequented the board, and almost all of the images from the website are broken now. The message board host doesn't exist anymore. My old website is still around and Disk hosts it still, but I haven't updated it since 2005.

In this pic, Luna, older at this point despite being over a thousand years old at the height of her popularity, has accrued more intricate jewelry and a more celestial-looking power cloud. Disk's wings have grown bigger, he's dawned some armor to combat the trolls, and both are just... older. The picture of a yoshi on the pillar behind them is the image I used in the header of my message board, so there's significance there.

That all said, lol, it's a dramatization and a cute little story harking back to 20 years ago based on real events. Disk commissioned it from me and I had a blast working on it. Since Luna is immortal, I wasn't sure how to convey her showing age except with the addition of some jewelry. Luna Yoshi's since married  ruffyyoshi 's character, Ruffy Yoshi, so I thought, being her husband, he'd have given her some nice gifts since the days she was the head of the Neo Yoshi Aurorium and Luna's Yoshi Sanctuary. Also, since she's grown more powerful, her cloud would look less like smoke and more like a celestial body of stars, though it's kind of hard to tell unless you view the higher res version of it.

Props to  BenRierimanu for sticking around for so long! I've met him in person, played a billion MMOs with him, and we've just kept in touch this whole time, so that's pretty cool. Thanks for your patronage and loyalty, dude! :D My favorite royal guard. <3
