Asami's company was experimenting with spirit energy and a new kind of industrial strength rubber material, but the machine exploded when Korra tried to use it on herself and out from the rubble came a Rubber infused Korra and Asami down to the very core of their beings and have since then, they've been trying to adjust to all the changes.

Korra's muscular body got nerfed down and all her mass went into her legs instead, but what Korra lost in strength she gained in craftiness as she took the opportunity to name herself the CEO of her girlfriends company while Asami was too busy admiring her new muscular rubber body, having never been this strong in her entire life, Asami found herself overwhelmed by her power and didn't put up much of a fight when Korra took away all her business responsibilites, leaving Asami the chance to play the roll of bodyguard for her new rubbery boss.
