A friend commissioned this as a gift for me around the end of 2009 (probably for Christmas). It's Rohan as the Fourth Doctor.

Boy was I surprised when I ended up getting an original work on paper, rather than a big file on a CD (which is what I'd expect if the image file was bigger than a couple of megabytes). Frankly, the idea of owning an original traditional media work scares me. I'm paranoid about it getting damaged or fading, so, of course, I scanned it into the computer, where I can safely look at it.

This isn't the original scan of the artwork. Image resolution and format aside, it's been slightly modified to correct an error which resulted from me not having a proper reference for Rohan at the time. The mistake was an easy one to make, given that the hair colour of the better image available at the time could easily be confused between brown and red (a problem I blame on colour space conversions). Anyway, once I had this scanned in, I fixed the error digitally.

I don't normally use JPEG, but here was one occasion when it actually did give better compression than PNG.
