I think he's kind of self-explanatory, except for one thing: I had a better version of this a long, long time ago :( i lost it when my last hard drive failed in 2005. I've been afraid to re-attempt it. I guess it didn't come out -too- bad...
A few people who have been following my artistic progress IRL over the years MIGHT recognize this mouse. Eh.

I have this problem with my style in general, it's too angular for me per se. I've managed to improve on the style without changing(as evident with my gallery, you can take a look though the whole thing and see exactly where I've improved) But, angular style has limitations that hold me back a little. How to I practice a more constructive style? I'm best at mostly straight lines, but I don't know how to improve in that area without changing my style completely
Circles, mah man, it's all about the circles. Quick, light, sketchy circles, gradually darkening where the path is right. Eventually, you find yourself tracing the true form out of the messy construction lines. This also creates a muscle memory imprint of what movements are necessary to achieve a desired shape. After you get this stuff out of the way, it's amazing how much Art becomes Instinct. Once your body knows how to do it, that's one less barrier between the Truth of the Image and its representation on paper ^_^
But I kind of LIKE your 'sharpness'. It's kinda' original, and Very fresh. That's not to say you shouldn't expand your horizons. Try stuff whenever. To simplify 'getting there' as best as one possibly can: Throw yourself and your directive relentlessly at the page until, if by raw natural selection, you phase out all that is NOT what you wish to achieve. Throw yourself, throw yourself, HURL yourself until either you feel like taking a break or until you're satisfied with the result--but avoid turning it into a chore. You'll get somewhere before you know it.
