I struggle with that myself. I have such a hard time sticking to a set character design. That's why I ultimately went with a stitched fursona..so I can take parts off and replace them. Altho now that I think about it, aside from the tail and switching out my ears for larger ones of the same design I havent really used that idea to my advantage much >.>
