Status: Desperately seeking a mate.

Born by parents at space who shortly died, Leif was adopted and raised by Humans. Thankful to have a family, but never quite feeling as if he fit in, he sought knowledge of his true heritage and a way back home. Around the age of 14, he discovered a love of film and cinematography. He quickly took to jobs that allowed him to exercise control of video cameras to make money, and used that money to eat and continue his search for his family.
Years wore on, and he still never found his family. Never stopped loving video. Black became less and less enchanted with the possibilities of film, and more interested in the challenges the limitations of its technology place between creating a completely immersive recreation of a point in time, and pushed himself to always strive for total immersion with the belief that there was nothing one couldn't live through film. Perhaps in a rationalization effort, he too believed that by filming other Animarians with the appropriate setup, he could find true understanding of what it meant to be an Animarian, and to be himself. And chances are that he will never stop searching.
There came a time in his life where he realized that without his "real" family nor any significant other, he might very well be the end of his particular family line, and is desperate to find another of his own to continue the line with. But his obsession with video work leaves him little time to seek a mate, or frequently spend time with the family who raised him.

Lief tends to be curt and brief when speaking, but is kindhearted and giving. He always wears a black suit with black pants when given the option. This is why he has the nickname Black. He would trade his life if it meant achieving his goals in film.
