The Avians are a winged race who prefer to reside at higher altitudes. While they generally consider themselves on neutral-terms with most of the land races, a good number of mammals see them as nothing more than throwaway tools, condescendingly referring to them as “rats with wings”. A growing number of Avians are therefore fighting for independence, rebelling against unfair exploitation by the land beings. Because of their unique ability, many act as carriers or messengers to whomever requires their services, including gangs and criminals.

Avians share a cultural affinity for nature: Some prefer to express their passions through poetry and the arts, while others become researchers and scientists to gain a more objective understanding of the world. Their treetop village is also the home to the world’s largest lab, which pioneered the field of therianthropy research.

Curiosities aside, they are wary of The Giants and generally do not like to approach or attempt to befriend them.
