This figure is from the background of Fox In Mink.

I had no strong ideas about what Fox In Mink was going to look like, it was just a doodle that I developed basically by the seat of my pants. It was not until very late in the image that I knew what I wanted it to look like. I must have drawn eight distinct backgrounds and agonized over how they didn't pair well with the foreground figure at all. Once I finally decided on a setting that fit into a little narrative I tried to ignore the fact that I needed another character for the background, as I worked.

I figured that I would be doing a silhouette, because they are easy and fast. This was faster though, after spending 2 agonizing days creating and destroying different background scenery of various styles and quality, this little figure must have flown out of my hand in something on the order of 15 seconds. I was like... oh, neat. I was fully prepared to get all fiddly and upset with a silhouetted character.

Anyway, I thought this thing was a little bit of genius at the time, I suppose no one needs to be impressed with it, but I was.
