Leksi the minibadger used to sneak around and "borrow" things from the bigger world around her, bringing her loot back to the other tiny mustelids in her sett. That life isn't without risk, and no sneaky thief lasts forever. It was just her luck to end up captured by something a lot more merciful than a hawk or playful housecat. Raiza isn't the most physically active of... caretakers, captors, mistresses?... but she certainly does keep Leksi busy, and she's taught the solid little borrower some fun things to do she'd never heard of before.

Whatever they got up to last night, this morning has a whole lot of nothing going on. Impatient little Leksi is trying to get the behemoth bedwarmer out of the sheets to get started on the day and the panda, in the time-honored tradition of her species, is having absolutely none of it. Maybe a little prod will get her going. Maybe a tickle or nibble on inky black pads will provide the necessary stimulus. Or maybe she should just give up, nestle into those familiar soles, and get back to bed for a few more hourse before, just maybe, having a quick bath.

I really love how the piece came out- the color scheme was a real surprise to me, but it works very well at capturing that feeling of cozy darkness. And with the relative sizes of these two, Leksi is very well acquainted with cozy darkness.
